In every generation, men and women who know God
by faith in Jesus Christ have borne witness to the
Holy Scriptures. Today the Bible continues to be used by believers all
around the world in hundreds of languages and dialects.
The Bible is the only true and faithful record
we have in all the world of what God has said, what God is
doing, and what God is yet to do. And so it's no wonder that
the forces of evil, and all who hate God, will also hate
Scripture and speak out against it, trying to discourage
anyone and everyone from believing.
But God is greater than all the darkness.
It is today as it was almost 2,000 years ago,
when Paul wrote:
"All scripture is inspired by God and is
useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for
training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God
may be proficient, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy
3:16,17

And as Peter also wrote:
You know that you were ransomed from the
futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable
things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of
Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. He was
destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed
at the end of the ages for your sake. Through him you have
come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave
him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God. Now
that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the
truth so that you have genuine mutual love, love one another
deeply from the heart. You have been born anew, not of
perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and
enduring word of God. For "All flesh is like grass and all its
glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the
flower falls, but the word of the Lord endures forever." That
word is the good news that was announced to you.
(1 Peter
1:18-25)
In Jesus Christ we have the power to become God's children,
and we also have the very Spirit of God inside us to make us
strong, and to keep turning our eyes back to the truth.
Trusting in Jesus, we know that God's record is true.
