I Did It Just For You
Crystal Keub
Dark clouds billowing overhead
Murky waves crashing over the shore
Wind shrieking among tall black trees
No sign of light from the usually star filled heavens
And the slumped figure of a woman, weeping on a boulder.
“Oh God, what has happened to me?
Why do You seem to be so far away?
Why do you forsake me here in this wicked world?
Why am I feeling this terrible burden of pain and shame?
Why have I failed You so utterly, terribly foolishly?”
“I went through my life, knowing You’re at my
side
I sought Your face, sought your will, and sought it to fulfill
I believed in You with all my heart, my soul, and mind
And yet, I slowly drifted off, Satan’s tricks entrapped me blind.
I stumbled, I fell, I let go of Your loving hand, now what to do?”
Midst the heavy grey clouds sending chilling
rains
In the thunder of the waves against the jagged shoreline
Among the screaming voices of the wind
Amid the deep blackness of the once starry skies
There sits a weeping woman, torn at heart, broken, and lost.
The heart of One bigger, wiser, holier, is
moved
He sees the suffering woman, beholding her in love
He sees a broken, beaten, battered heart, torn all apart
He sees bent shoulders, burdened with loads of cares
His heart is moved in compassion, looking at the heart of one lost.
“Oh you dear woman of sorrow and pain, tell me
what’s on your heart?
What is it that causes you to stumble and fall?
What has caused this pain in your heart?
Tell me, my weeping daughter, what is it that bothers you now?”
As the woman explains, He holds her soothingly in His arms.
“Oh woman, my daughter, I love you!
I knew what you had gone through before you told me about it.
I know all about you, your thoughts, I count the hair on your head!
I am your Creator, your Designer, and you are Mine forever
I will never forsake you, I won’t leave, I won’t let you go.”
“See my hands, my feet, my side! See the scars
the nails left behind
See how I gave my life for you, yes, for you, my daughter
I did this for you! Yes, had you been the only one on earth
I would still have come down and shed every last drop of My blood to save
you!
You are precious to Me, and I gave my life that you might live.”
The woman, trembling in awe and fear, cries
out
“God! I failed You. Your love is to great, I don’t deserve it at all!
I tried to be faithful, but Satan trapped me before I knew it
I slipped, then fell down. I have remained down, I never wiped the mud off
me
I stayed in my sin, and now I don’t deserve Your compassion.”
“Child, I gave my life, so do you accept My
gift?
I love you more than anything, I gave my blood, every last drop.
Now it’s your choice, child, take it, or continue in pain and sin.
I loved you with an everlasting love, will you love Me too?
I gave it all, just for you, my dear child.
The woman threw herself at His feet and wept
“Oh Lord, take me as I am! I have nothing to offer, but take me!
Forgive me of my sin, I want to be made free
Take my life into Your hand, mould it, shape it, the way it should be.
Thank you Lord, for shedding Your blood just for me!”
Thus, the woman rejoiced, having found her
life again
She had reason to be, purpose to live
Her heart was healed of sorrow and grief
Her heart was washed with His blood, all stains were removed
She lived a life, happy, free, telling everyone of her loving Saviour.
Bluish clouds, with silver lining
Gentle waters, lapping the shores
Wind’s voices, beautiful like music
Stars twinkling in a big night sky
A woman standing tall and strong, laughing, singing, arms uplifted.
