direction
Hellen Willett
rambling words and confused
feelings
caught up in this whirlwind
of life
pouring out in every
direction
turning right
turning left
going forward
trying to go back, but
hoping for the present
jumbled thoughts fill the
air
minds are tattered between
truth and rationalization
floating around as if there
isn’t a today
or a tomorrow
discovering a purpose—a
reason
peace is alone in the One
who created me
a joy that can’t be touched
it alone is my desire
the hardships and thorny
paths we must take
cold, dark, unsure, but
light ahead
for one day the tornado will
cease
all will be still
ahh…life is a deep ocean in
which we swim
strong currents, heavy
breaks in the surf
but cool and refreshing it
is
take heed and find peace
for it rests in the maker of
that sea
turning right
turning left
standing still—finding
peace, reason, comfort
